Well-being through wood

Our apartment and designer hotel consists predominantly of wood. This natural material gives the hotel a very special ambiance of well-being, which you absolutely have to experience for yourself. Especially in the rooms and vacation apartments, the wood on the floors, walls, and in the living room provides for a warm, "fragrant" atmosphere.  The 3 types of wood that are used in the Posthotel are spruce, oak, pine.

Spruce cone

Spruce
Representing some 60% of the lumber produced by Austria's forests, spruce is the most important domestic species of tree.  Spruce reach ages of as much as 600 years and attain heights of up to 60 metres. Spruce also takes its rightful place in the world of therapeutic healing as well. Everyone in this part of the world knows the brandy made from spruce needles - it promotes blood circulation and possesses other refreshing characteristics, making it popular with athletes, but also with those who are bed-bound as an invigorating form of embrocation. Spruce contains essential oils and resins, easing children's cold symptoms.  In the form of a salve, it is used in the treatment of rheumatism, gout and muscle pain.  And we shouldn't forget cough syrups and cough drops that also contain the oil from spruce needles, as do a large number of bath additives.
Purple is a perfect match for spruce, both in nature and in our rooms: a symbol of high status worn from antiquity through to the Renaissance by some of the world's most powerful figures. This shade between red and blue was regarded as mysterious, sensitive, intuitive and quite out of the ordinary.  These color tones are utterly charming and captivating.

Oak leaves

The Oak
It grows to a height of 20 - 50 metres and bears broad, gnarled branches. Its bloom, from which the acorns grow, is greenish.  The oak can become very old, with the English oak reaching ages of as much as 1300 years.  The oak is a symbol of strength.  Hippocrates (460 - 337 B.C.) taught of the oak's therapeutic effects.  Physician and botanist Hieronymus Bock wrote in his herb book, which appeared in 1539: Oak leaves ...soaked in wine and drunk, will certainly quell the weak-mindedness of women ...If a person is stung by a poisonous animal or worm, he should drink powdered acorns...."
The color green of oak trees accompanies us into our apartments.  Green is the color of nature and of life itself.  It represents positivity and hope.  The color of renewal, of springtime and of life, a symbol for burgeoning love. It also stands for an environmentally friendly world view and sustainability.

Pine needles

Swiss Pine
This pine species is very common in the western interior Alps at elevations ranging from 1400 to 2500 metres above sea level.  Its average life span is from 200 to 400 years, though some estimates have it living for as long as 1200 years.  Swiss pine contains many essential oils and is proven to have excellent benefits for human health! In a bed stuffed with Swiss pine, you'll enjoy the best sleep of your life!  A good night's sleep goes hand in hand with a lower pulse rate and a more harmonious metabolism during the daytime.  Those who sleep on a bed of Swiss pine "save" on average 3500 heartbeats per day, equivalent to about one hour's work for your heart.
Pine is also associated with the color of love: red! Red represents dynamism, passion, yearning and things of value. Regarded as a feminine color during antiquity, today it is thought of as male. Red was the first color that the human eye was able to perceive.  In the world of folk magic, it protects us from dark magic and evil spirits, and attracts good fortune.
